Running shoe size & advice



Get Your shoes fitted after you've been up and about for a few hours

or ideally after youve been on your feet for a few hours, your feet shrink at night and and can grow half a size during a day and don't worry if your race is in the morning they will do the same thing in the first mile or so.

Measure your feet each year

They can change size as you get older, Your foot arch may lower over time, resulting in a longer foot & a stronger foot may cause the arch to rise, resulting in a shorter size. Weight changes and activity levels can also influence foot size

Every Brand is different

Each shoes last is different and that be be different for shoes from the same brand and the same model year on Year. If we think a shoe is particulay small or big we will advise of this in the description. but here at Velorunner if we thi

​Generally speaking your running shoe should half a size bigger than your everyday shoe.

Sock thickness can affect shoe fit, so try on shoes with the socks you plan to wear.

Spend some money on Socks

Your running shoe has cost you £100 plus, and one thing comes between you and the shoe. Your Sock. It can make all the difference. As a rule of thumb, you should use three pairs of socks for one pair of running shoes, so that's 150-200 miles per sock. Also, it's no good spending all that money on shoes and then putting on a three-quid sock and expecting good results. You need a running-specific sock designed to support the hundreds of muscles, tendons and bones in your foot.
